INK CITY CR CHART

ELIAS MARKELL
{OC}

The first person she met in this impossible City who actually MADE SENSE (even if he was and continues to be completely out of the loop), and proved himself back at the end of World Split to be handy with tunnel digging, willing to listen to sense and good with going along with planning. Ever since they’ve taken up residence together underground in Elias’s MUCH expanded burrow, and the tunnels Digger has made under the whole city.
Elias is Digger’s Platonic Life Partner Fivever. (Though of course, she’d never put it in those particular terms)
His habit of panicking in reaction to just about EVERYTHING often strains her patience, but he is still her solid friend, and she would not want to face the city and everything in it without him.

TEDDIE
{PERSONA 4}

Digger has a strange nothabit of being adopted by small, parentless things. Teddie is just such a one, seeing as Digger is the closest thing to another bear here in Ink City.
Since he offered her a place to stay when she first arrived, and even gave her a project (fixing the door), and some information on the strange world she’d found herself in, she’s kept an eye on him, checking now and then, and trying to encourage the occasional use of common sense.
Which is an uphill battle, but she will keep trying.

WAKKO WARNER
{ANIMANIACS}

Another strange being that has adopted her, she’s still not convinced he (and his sibs) aren’t some sort of demon, and she just DOESN’T UNDERSTAND how he manages to pull things out of thin air.
And let’s not talk about mallets.

TWILIGHT SPARKLE
{MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC}

Twilight is a purple unicorn who lives in a tree and practices magic.
However, because she uses the scientific method, has quite a lot of common sense, and explained how Ink City as a world ‘works’, Digger doesn’t hold it against her. Twilight is one of the few not crazy beings she’s come across, and it’s nice to have conversations that don’t go on toon logic. She’s proven herself to be a good and solid friend, providing support in finding projects (and tea) for Digger just as she was about to go stir crazy, as well as helping with Ren’s ‘problem’ with very little questions asked.
While some of her research into the inner workings of the world of Ink City has led to some…uncomfortable bits of knowledge being imparted to Digger, mostly she sees Twi’s curiosity as a good thing, that may lead to a way OUT.
Regardless, Digger’s come to understand that when Twilight tells her she doesn’t want to know something, she really doesn’t.

REN HOEK
{REN AND STIMPY}

Ren keeps stalking Elias and showing up around Wakko. He’s crazy, and weird-looking, and he invaded her burrow, and she was intent on preventing him from getting near EITHER OF them…
And then he showed up turned into a cat with a giant tumor bulging from his head, and her sense of obligation took over.
Ren is half exasperation, half irritation, and 2% pity, which doesn’t leave a lot of room for anything else.

HIM
{POWERPUFF GIRLS}

Him is everything Evil to Digger.
Uses magic liberally, attacks carefully constructed tunnels, and burns things without asking.
Because of Him she’s taken to carrying long range weapons when she never needed them before.

moarbracing: (Pickaxes solve problems)
Digger’s tunnels extend throughout the City, the product of several weeks of hard work. The exits and entrances are fairly well hidden wherever they happen to be, however they are not impossible to find.

While she can make more if the situation calls for it, the main ones are as follows
#16. Yosuke’s house-backyard
#23. Crmsn’s house-Found in the rosebushes. Leads to another burrow.
#24. Legato's greenhouse-Small burrow underneath
#33. Ikebana Flower Garden-Hidden beneath the roots of a tree.
Warehouses-Close to the door of each warehouse.
June’s Store-Wherever there’s dirt.
The Cathedral A few feet away from the main door.

All of these are connected to
#75. Souji Seta’s house.
Where she and Elias have hollowed out a good sized burrow with several rooms under the foundations of the house.

Since her discovery that non-native soil doesn't itch her like the native soil does, she has expanded several other burrows around the City in places with lots of NORMAL dirt.

Name: Digger-of-Unnecessarily-Convoluted-Tunnels
From: Digger

Appearance:

Age: Good question, probably late twenties.

Gender: Female

Personality: Stubborn, practical, snarky, loyal, and blunt. Digger is much like her favorite pick-axe. (Except the pick-axe doesn’t need to make snarky comments) What you see is what you get, she doesn’t have many layers. She has a strong moral code that she will follow, even when she knows that it will lead to Adventure and Magic. Things no sane wombat wants anything to do with. She also has maternal tendencies, in a ‘Here’s your tools, and here’s how to use them, go for it’ type of way. She is not at all fond of magic and gods and things of that nature, probably because she is so experienced with them.

Backstory: Whilst digging a tunnel, Digger passed through a cavern full of poisonous gas, that made her a bit loopy. The next few hours/days were a blur, and when she finally came to her senses, she was pushing her way up through the floor of the temple of Ganesh. The statue of the god greeted her and offered the food offerings in his bowl. Both of them were surprised to find out that her tunnel was not actually there in the strictest sense. This made Digger very unhappy, as such effects meant someone deliberately magicked her tunnel, and using magic in mining is bloody irresponsible, so she couldn’t even use that tunnel to get back home.
She eventually finds out that the tunnel leads to a cavern in which beings known as the ‘Metal Servants’ are keeping the body of a god alive.

What follows is a twelve chapter long epic, told by an author who didn’t think it would last more than ten pages, and goes much more in-depth to daily goings-on then most epics.
Suffice to say that Digger meets an exiled hyena, the tribe that exiled him, a feral Shadowchild with no sense of morality, who latches onto her as a maternal figure, and the in-universe hero of the tale, a slightly crazy priest-cop named Murai.

It gets convoluted.

The main tale involves Digger, Murai, Grim Eyes (member of the hyena tribe, Digger’s adopted cousin, it’s a complicated story), and Shadowchild traveling to an abandoned monastery to find out why Digger’s tunnel leads to an undead god and how to make it dead again.
They succeed, and Digger finds a merchant to take her home, and the comic ends on its 759th page here http://www.diggercomic.com/?p=921

Moral Standing: Lawful good

Dreams: To build something that will last, and to stay out of these Epics.

Fears: Being unprepared for something she should have seen coming.

Extra: The obligatory year-and-a-day waiting period has gone by, so Digger’s old burrow isn’t hers anymore. She’ll be bringing her pickaxe and pack with some mining tools and food in. That’s it. Again.
